Fireworks of Mine

"Boom, Boom, Boom." The midnight sky was lighting up by fireworks. They were especially beautiful to me. Different shapes and colors are booming up into the sky. Aaron was jumping around and whining to me to let him set off the fireworks. Around me, there were the ashes that left off after the fireworks went into the night sky; there were people saying happy New Year to each other, there were booming sounds of setting off fire crackers. I went up to one of the big fireworks scarily, didn't know what I should do. Mrs. Courage behind me said: "Go, I got your back!" Then I walked up front and set off one big firework. In one second, continuous booming over my head, thousands of flowers were blossoming in the midnight sky. Mrs. Courage behind me again said: "Do you see how wonderful it is?" It was spectacular, because I set it off with Mrs. Courage who's always standing behind me.

I choose this picture because my vignette is about firework, and I think these are very beautiful fireworks. Because I set off a spectacular firework with my courage, that is what I carry.

I choose Firework by Katy Perry is because this song is about being confident and have courage in yourself, this is what exactly what I carried.

Helpless Moment

I choose this picture because the moment I felt helpless was when I knew that I would be moving to Portland. And I carried this helplessness with me.
I choose In My Life by The Beatles because this is a song about moving away, and remembering times before. Memory is also what I carry.

"Did we get all of our Visas done?" Mom and dad were discussing something that I wasn't sure. "Yes, and I have already booked our air tickets to Portland." I was shocked when I heard these terms behind the door: Visas, Air tickets, and Portland. I didn't know what were there terms supposed to mean. "Wasn't Portland the place where uncle's family at?" "What do they want to do?" "What are they going there for?" These kinds of questions kept running through my head. Soon, I heard that they wanted to move to Portland. My brain was like it was hollowed by some scary, unknown things. I didn't know what to do. What I only know was I did not want to leave. I started to cry, like a little kid that fell on the ground, and there wasn't even one person around to help.

  1. “Mrs. Courage behind me said “Go i got your back!” Then I walked up front and set off one big firework” I really like this line because it says what she carry’s which is courage. This vignette made me feel good, her vignette reminds me of my 4th of July’s because I remember setting up a big firework for the first time.

  3. WOW SHIRLEY! This is great. I love your metaphor about the fireworks looking like blossoming flowers in the sky. You used all the literary devices in a creative way. Great job!
